ABOUT ME
My name is Aishah Cholmondeley, and I am an anticipated Winter 2019 graduate of the Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) program at McGill.
Before being a university student, my previous titles have been as follows: babysitter, homework helper, mentor, early childhood assistant, and fun big sister — I've worked with children all my life, and I take great pride in watching them learn and grow as important members of society. I bring this passion to my teaching, and ensure that my students feel cared for as they learn.
CONTACT
As someone who grew up in a very multicultural, English-centric area of Canada, I've seen the struggle that many people have faced in emigrating and having to learn a whole new language in order to get by. As a future ESL educator, I would like to help those who need to learn English, but in a way that does not diminish the importance of one's cultural language — rather, I'd like to celebrate one's home language in conjunction with English, and the many doors that multilingualism opens. This is why I've chosen TESL as my teaching program.
