Field Experience 1

As I speak English fluently, I am able to communicate well in the language of instruction. However, I need to improve further in my French, as it is necessary for me to communicate with parents, other teachers, and administration. 

Since my first field experience, I have been able to take a class in Effective Communication in French, and I hope to take more French courses in the future. 

In my French class, I was able to roleplay a parent-teacher interview, and I also wrote a cover letter for a fictitious teaching job entirely in French. These are major accomplishments for me, and I hope to continue making strides in the French language through practice and further academic instruction. 

Field Experience 2
Anchor 2

I continued to use a proper English register and grammar throughout my field experience and in my seminar. Linked here is an exit card for my Professional Seminar in which my communicative efficacy is displayed. This handout I made for students also demonstrates clear, ELL-friendly language use. 

In the next field experience, I hope to continue improving my moderation of the level of language I use to speak with students (i.e. ensuring I use simple language with beginner students, and more advanced wording with higher-level ELLs.)
